About Mr. Justis

My name is Larry Justis. I am a 8th-generation Greene Countian (going back to the 1700's). I grew up on a small farm in the Romeo community. I attended Baileyton Elementary School (preK-8).

I have a Bachelor's degree in Languages (concentration in French; I also studied English, German and Spanish) from East Tennessee State University; and a Master's degree (in Education) from Cumberland University. I studied abroad at the University of Paris in France during my junior year at ETSU. I have taught French and also Spanish over the years, and I have coached boys basketball (freshmen and JV), girls basketball (assistant head coach) and been the head coach of tennis.

I am married, and we have one son. We attend Warrensburg Baptist Church. I enjoy doing things with my family, especially outdoor activities like hiking, fishing, camping, and hunting. I also enjoy working on the farm--hay, animals, fencing, food production, making soap, etc. I listen to all sorts of music but mostly current hard rock, 90's alternative and 60's rock. I like tennis, Greeneville Flyboys baseball, Tennessee Titans football, college football and basketball--really all sports. I watch action/thriller and comedy movies and tv, as well as sci-fi (e.g., Star Trek and Star Wars). My favorite YouTube channels are car/truck, farm-related, how-to, bushcraft and funny videos. I do occasionally play video games and engage in other "fun" activities.

I am also a member of the Sons of the American Revolution, King's Mountain Chapter--that means I have at least one ancestor whom I have proof of service in the American Revolution and whose lineage I have documented. The patriots to whom I documented my lineage fought at the Battle of King's Mountain: a father and son who lived in Greene County.
I HAVE NO CLASSROOM LIBRARY AT NGHS.
