NGHS Students Compete in Science and Engineering Fair

Seven students from North Greene competed in the University of Tennessee’s Southern Appalachian Science and Engineering Fair on March 26. Five students took home prestigious awards:

Karina Juarez, honorable mention (students whose projects were determined to be of exceptional merit)

 

Two projects received the Certificate of Excellence Awards (projects determined by the judges to be of exceptional merit and deserving of higher honors.)

Each of these projects won their category:

 

Behavioral Health - Noah Deyton and Mary Weems

 

Plant Science - Michael Fox

 

In addition, two projects won National Special Awards:

 

American Psychological Association Award for Outstanding Research in Psychological Science: Noah Deyton and Mary Weems

 

Society for in vitro Biology Award for a project showing excellence in in vitro biology and microbiology: Michael Fox
