Bio

My name is Todd Malone. I was born and raised here in Greene County, TN. After high school, I attended East Tennessee State University where I received a Bachelor’s Degree in criminal justice with a minor in psychology. I then began a 13-year career in the field of law enforcement as a police officer, where I served in many roles. My last 6 years in law enforcement were spent in the role of school resource officer, where I frequently spoke in classes on topics related to criminal justice. I then realized that I enjoyed teaching and began pursuing a career change to education. I had already enrolled back in college, taking advanced math classes to help with vehicle accident reconstruction with the police department. After taking these math classes, I had earned more than enough credit hours to become highly qualified to teach math at the high school level. I then attended a program called “Teach Tennesee” to obtain licensure and certification in 2006. Once certified to teach, I spent two years teaching in Sullivan County until I had the opportunity to return home and teach at North Greene. I have been at North Greene since the 2009-2010 school year. Since changing careers, I have continued my education and have received a Master’s degree and an Education Specialist degree from Union College in education administration.
