Introduction
North Greene High School is located in the northern part of Greene County, approximately 12 miles from Greeneville, Tennessee. The school enrollment is around 400 students. Faculty members number 27. Every classroom at NGHS has internet connectivity. In addition to the main computer lab located in the center of the school, the library has 22 computers and there is a 20-computer lab located in the business department. Several classrooms have 5-computer to 10-computer minilabs. The departments currently running minilabs include English, Science, Resource, Media Tech, and Agriculture. All computers at NGHS are connected to the local server and have internet connectivity via the school router. 
Technology Vision
North Greene's technology vision is that students and faculty will gain the technical skills necessary to become effective users of technology in an ever-increasing technology-driven socitey.
Technology Mission
The mission of North Greene High School is to provide students with a wide variety of technological experiences and instruction, thus enabling them to become successful, productive, and able users of technology.
Technology Goals
NGHS has set the following goals for the use of instructional technology:
  1. To make technology an integral part of the curriculum
  • Increase and encourage use of technology
  • Assist teachers in integrating technology into classroom instruction
  • Provide training to faculty members
  • Provide technology training and instruction to students
 
  1. To increase student access to technology through increased technological resources
  • Acquire additional hardware and software necessary to meet the needs of NGHS
  • Encourage and aide teachers in applying for the Technology Literacy Grant and other grants
  • Seek partnerships with businesses, industry, an educational institutions
  • Encourage and promote alumni and community involvement
 
  1. To provide needed technological support
  • Retain the Technology Support Teacher to assist faculty and staff and to maintain building technology
  • Utilize system support personnel and procedures
  • Attend workshops and conferences related to technology
